Molex has signed a global license agreement to manufacture Enfucell's SoftBattery® power products to strengthen its growing portfolio of printed electronic component solutions.

Enfucell has over ten years of experience in developing this patented technology and is a pioneer in the field of printable cell design to meet the needs of the medical, sports and logistics industries. This non-exclusive partnership enables Molex to better serve the burgeoning marketplace, meeting the needs of printable battery-powered wearable and Internet of Things (IoT) electronics and sensor applications.

"The Internet of Things is proving itself as a powerful tool in 'smart' solutions that can support the connection of sensors, patches, wearable devices and other smart applications, and affordable power supplies," said John Heitzinger, industry marketing manager for Molex. , Demand continues to rise. Sensors and other Internet-enabled solutions require power to remain operational. Many wearable applications, such as athletic devices or skin patches for drug delivery, require that the power supply has some elasticity. This high-quality battery as a flexible, full printing of the main solution, the use of low-cost environmentally friendly industrial materials, the material to zinc dioxide and manganese dioxide-based, and the use of zinc chloride as an electrolyte.

Printed electronic components and traditional electronic components is different, the former power and other components can be made in the flexible substrate. Molex manufactures a wide range of electronics, electrical and fiber solutions that enable the production of cost-effective products by introducing expert experience in printed and flexible electronic components, including proprietary full-roll printing processes. b3u-1000p-b

This innovative battery technology can be manufactured in a variety of custom sizes and shapes, and integrated into the power supply products. Under the terms of the agreement, Molex now offers end-to-end project support and manufacturing services for printed SoftBattery® power supplies for labels, patches and other types of products.

"From design to prototyping and full-scale production, Molex's expertise and advanced manufacturing processes can bring significant benefits to customers," Heitzinger added. "The solution created leveraged the benefits of the Internet of Things, Battery-powered push. "
