NFL Network's Stacey Dales reported there may be "internal optimism" the Detroit Lions will get a new deal for Matthew Stafford within the next two weeks.

When Stafford's mega-deal is conducted, Matt Ryan could possibly be next in line to boost the contract bar.

The Atlanta Falcons' quarterback has a couple of years left on his contract. Ryan told ESPN's Vaughn McClure he isn't fretting in regards to new deal.

"That's just the business side of it, " Ryan said. "I'm never worried excessive about that. I've always tried to let the business people handle the organization and for me, just try and manage what I can management, and that's playing good and preparing properly. And I've always felt like should you choose that, the business side of it should take care of itself. But certainly, those guys are worthy of what's coming their technique. "

The NFL MVP said talks while using the Falcons about a new contract haven't started.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank said at the Super Bowl that Ryan can be "compensated well, " with general manager Thomas Dimitroff echoing that the thought of contract negotiations with Ryan are going to be on the team's radar before long.

"You know, I'm just happy to go for the organization, for sure, " Ryan said Wednesday on ESPN. "I've felt such good support from Arthur in the course of my entire career.

"When your owner features your back and he has been been supportive like Arthur has become throughout my entire job, trust me, that feels really very good. "

Whether it happens shortly after Stafford signs his deal, next offseason, or further down the street, at some point Ryan will have his name atop the listing of highest-paid players in the NFL -- at least briefly.
