No we never recommended without ro plant. Because mostly according the ground water tds very and ice cube machine might be chocked because without filter ground water contains calcium, salt and other contaminations etc.
If you use filter ro water your ice quality will be improve along with look wise it look crystal clear. If you know about the tds, it shows the quality of your water stand for total dissolve solid and we recommended between 55-65 tds best for drinking purpose also.
If you want to go for DC40 OR DC70 so best choice is 50lph.
If you go for DC150 OR above up to DCX500 best option will be 100lph commercial.
