Can an employer schedule a 2-hour shift?

An employee gets shift and then the shift is changed that is extended or shortened or removed. Sometimes and employees expected to be present on the days of holidays and if he report on those ships then he will be paid otherwise not. Some company also pay for the overtime and some do not. When an employee is not called but his shift suddenly generated then the employee is paid according to the hours or full shift whichever is less. This can happen on the weekend holidays and some festivals like Christmas. If any employee is called on these days then they are paid extra for working extra but this may not imply for all the companies but only few companies pay for overtime. The driver get the shifts work but the company should ensure that the driver has PCO Licence Application. Every employee should be paid for at least 3 hours or for the full shift whichever is less but not every company follow this rule. It will be more clear if I give you the example if a person works for full shift that is for 6 hours and on certain days is called the movie motor if I give you the example if a person works for full shift that is for 6 hours and on certain days he’s called and work for 2 hours and then he went home then he is entitled to get payment for atleast 3 hours.

This was the example but in actual person is called and fever of less than the hours of shift then he will be paid for the time which his shift include. Doesn’t matter is an employee has worked for less than the hours of the shift but he will be paid for the hours he was entitled to work. The situation generally happens when there is a lean session and company do not have any work for the employees. An employee can also send an employee home if he has scheduled a lot of employees for work and therefore he has the flexibility to send the employees home which were working for too long. So talking about if employer can schedule a shift of 2 hours is totally depend on the situations and on the employer. But the employer has to pay the employee for at least 3 hours irrespective of the hours has actually worked.
