She is a native of the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While in high school, she started working with children as a dental assistant under her mother, Dr. Nicola Hill-Cordell. After earning her DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Edgcomb completed a two-year pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. She earned her Masters in Oral Sciences during her residency and conducted research on innovative pediatric dental techniques.
