Door remote control failure: what should I do?

A door remote control that doesn't work properly or doesn't work at all can be really stressful. By allowing the gate to be opened and closed easily and remotely, doesn't this device make everyday life easier? What to do in case of a breakdown?

Remote control failure: possible solutions
The remote control of your electric door won't work? First of all, make sure that it is compatible with the original  RF remote control. Yes, if not, don't be surprised if it doesn't work. If this is the case, check the condition of the batteries (these may be flat or faulty). Maybe it's time to replace them. It should be noted that the ideal would be to choose lithium batteries. When inserting the new batteries, check the +/- polarity.

If you've just replaced the batteries, the failure probably comes from somewhere else. For example, your remote control may not be recorded correctly by the receiver. To try to solve the problem, program the device with the receiver. Also, make sure your receiver antenna is properly connected. Speaking of the receiver, why not check its proper functioning? To do this, you need a millimeter.

Equipment in the vicinity may also emit interference to your installation and therefore interfere with the operation of your remote control. Also, it may also be wise to check on your neighbor’s side (if he also uses an automatism, of course).

In addition, a fall can cause the remote control to fail. In that case, open the case. If the antenna is unsoldered, consider welding.

The breakdown concerns only a few keys to the case? In this case, know that the contact sheet (which ensures the conduction) is at the origin of your problem. The clogging of the filter hinders its proper functioning. By attaching small pieces of aluminum, you can solve the problem.

The various electrical components of the device may also cause a failure. Do not hesitate to test them with a suitable device.

What if you can't solve the problem yourself?
If you can't solve the problem yourself, and your remote control is no longer under warranty, you must invest in a new  RF controller. Of course, you don't have to spend a small fortune on a first-rate model. As mentioned in another article, you must choose an RF remote control with the same frequency as the old one.

PS: Regularly check the condition of your batteries. These may leak, causing oxidation of the contacts.
