Self Deception - Are You Guilty?

Dick wanted to bring him a book and Becoming Limitless Review was searching his library when he located and pulled out Leadership and Self Deception from the Arbinger Institute. The Arbinger Institute is a management training and consultant firm. It's organizational clients include Microsoft, IBM, ATT, Lockheed Martin, Nike, Harley-Davidson, Intel, Nokia, USA Today, Cornell University, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Justice Department, the Energy Department, and the Treasury.

I asked Dick why this particular book and he said in his experience he had found self-deception to be one of the biggest killers of human potential. I realized while we talked, the reason this resonated deeply with me was because I had been guilty of it many times in the past. The book tells a story of Tom Callum, a fictional character who works for the Zagrum Company. Through a series of meetings, Tom begins to realize that self-deception can lead to destruction. Conversely, your awareness and altering of it will positively change your life. I went out that afternoon and purchased the book.
