The proper packaging can make or break your product (pun intended). If you are looking for the right boxes for your product, particularly if you plan to ship it to your customers, there are specific invaluable considerations. It would include the appropriate size, the strength of the box, and the material it is made of. And mind you, not all boxes are equal, as some are better than others in terms of integrity and durability and even appeal. So what should you consider when selecting the ideal mailing or postal box for your needs? Here's your essential guide.

Consider the item/s
Since you are sending your items via a delivery service or courier, it follows that you should choose the box that’s most ideal for shipping. There are more than a few high-quality mailing boxes that come in different sizes, making them appropriate for various items such as clothing, subscription magazines or books, CDs, clocks, jewellery, cosmetics, and other gadgets or devices. But if you are sending a delicate product, it's better to opt for a box with double-lined or double-walled sides. These boxes are sturdier than single-walled boxes, and they are also better if you are sending heavier items.

Think about the size
The size of your particular item will influence the size of your postal or mailing box, of course, so it's good to expound on this further. Since there are many box sizes available, the key to choosing the right size for your box is to picture your item inside the box and imagine how you would arrange it. Think carefully about the internal box measurements, such as the length, height, and width, and whether or not your item will be the right fit.

How fragile is it?
If the item you are sending is delicate and quite fragile, the best thing you can do is use other packaging materials to wrap the item in, such as bubble wrap or wax paper. But for shipping, bubble wrap is often your best option. That said, make sure your postal box is large enough to accommodate both the item and bubble wrap material. A box that's too small may break apart and spill out the contents, whilst one that's too big may cause the item to move around too much and risk hitting the sides. And here's another tip to remember: when wrapping your delicate item in bubble wrap or other packaging materials, try not to be stingy. The more bubble wrap you use, the better, and make sure that you wrap nylon or vinyl tape several times around the bubble wrapping as well.

To ensure further protection for your item inside the postal or mailing box, use other packaging fillers such as foam or packing peanuts. This way, your item will not move around at all, and it can stay securely in the middle of the box even when covered in bubble wrap.

If you want something extra special, you can choose white mailing or postal boxes – you can stick on your brand logo and label onto the box, so it looks more appealing and is easy to identify, and customers love receiving something that looks like it's wrapped with extra care and attention to detail.
